Copycat Chocolate Frosted Donut (Dunkin’s style)
All-purpose flour does the heavy lifting here, with vanilla protein powder rounding it out. An American snack that takes 35 minutes, start to finish. At 190 calories and 8g protein per serving, it fits easily into a high-protein day. No specialty equipment and nothing hard to find at a regular grocery store.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Vanilla protein powder
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/3 cup Monk fruit sweetener
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup Egg whites
- 1/4 cup Plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp Sugar-free chocolate pudding mix
- 2 tbsp Skim milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350°F and mist a donut pan with cooking spray — a cold pan steams the batter instead of baking it.
- Whisk the flour, protein powder, baking powder, and monk fruit in a large bowl until no streaks remain.
- In a second bowl, whisk the applesauce, egg whites, yogurt, and vanilla until smooth and slightly frothy.
- Fold the wet into the dry in big slow strokes; stop the second it comes together, since overmixing makes baked donuts gummy.
- Pipe or spoon the batter into the pan, filling each ring about two-thirds full so they crown instead of overflow.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean and the tops spring back when tapped.
- Whisk the pudding mix, milk, and vanilla into a thick glaze, dip each cooled donut face-down, and let them set 10 minutes before the first bite.
