Ingredients
- 2 cups Self-rising flour
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
- 1/4 cup Cold light butter
- 1 cup Plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1 cup Reduced-fat cheddar, shredded
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp Fine salt
- 1 Egg
Steps
- Heat the oven to 425°F and line a sheet pan with parchment.
- Cut the cold butter into the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt until the mix looks like coarse crumbs — cold butter is what makes biscuits flaky instead of bready.
- Stir in the yogurt and egg just until a shaggy dough forms, then fold in the cheddar; stop the moment it comes together.
- Scoop 8 rough mounds onto the pan — drop biscuits are supposed to look rustic, not perfect.
- Bake 12 to 14 minutes until puffed and golden on top.
- Brush with a quick mix of melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley while they are still hot, and serve within minutes.
