Ingredients
- 4 Hot sausage links
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Creole mustard
- 2 cups Shredded lettuce
- 1 Tomato
- 8 slices Pickles
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
Steps
- Split the sausage links lengthwise but not all the way through, and press them flat. This gives maximum crust in the pan.
- Sear in hot oil 4 minutes per side until deeply browned and cooked through.
- Toast the bread, then spread both sides with the mayonnaise-Creole mustard blend.
- Layer lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the bottom half — cold crunch against hot sausage is the whole architecture.
- Lay the sausages on top, close, and press. Wrap 2 minutes so the bread softens slightly around the filling.
