Ingredients
- 1 cup Sugar
- 6 Eggs
- 1 Condensed milk
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 cup Dulce de leche
Steps
- Melt the sugar dry in a pan until deep amber — no stirring, just swirling — and coat the flan mold before it sets.
- Whisk the eggs, condensed milk, milk, and vanilla until just combined; strain for a silk-smooth custard.
- Bake in a water bath at 350°F for 60 minutes until the center barely trembles.
- Chill at least 4 hours, unmold so the caramel cascades, and serve each slice with a spoonful of dulce de leche.
- The flan keeps 4 days refrigerated in its mold — unmold only what you will serve.
