Ingredients
- 2 cups Sticky rice
- 2 Youtiao
- 1 cup Pork floss
- 0.5 cup Pickled mustard greens
- 1 Century egg
- 1 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Sugar
Steps
- Steam the sticky rice 25 minutes until translucent and tender. Season warm with a pinch of salt and the sugar; it should taste faintly savory-sweet.
- Lay a sheet of plastic wrap on the counter and spread a thick rectangle of rice on it, wetting your hands so it does not stick.
- Line the center with a whole youtiao, a stripe of pork floss, pickled greens, and wedges of century egg. Do not overfill — the roll has to close.
- Using the plastic wrap, roll the rice up and over the filling into a fat log, pressing firmly. Twist the ends to compact it.
- Unwrap, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and slice in half. Eat warm, in hand, like the breakfast burrito it secretly is.
