Ingredients
- 3 Pork sausages
- 1 cup Mashed potatoes
- 1 Onion
- 1/2 cup Beef broth
- 1 tbsp Flour
- 1/3 cup Peas
Steps
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of oil. Brown the sausages 10-12 minutes, turning regularly, until golden all over and cooked through with no pink inside. Set aside and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onion with a pinch of salt 6-8 minutes, until soft and golden-brown at the edges. Do not rush this. Color is flavor.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir 1 minute to cook out the raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to keep it smooth. Simmer 4-5 minutes, until it thickens into a glossy gravy.
- Taste and adjust the salt and pepper.
- Toss the peas into the gravy for the last 2 minutes, until bright green and tender.
- Plate the sausages over the mashed potatoes, spoon the onion gravy over everything, and scatter the peas on top.
