Ingredients
- 2 slices Rye bread
- 2 tbsp Cream cheese
- 3 oz Smoked salmon
- 1/4 Cucumber
- 1 tbsp Dill
- 1 wedge Lemon
Steps
- Toast 2 slices of rye bread until the edges are crisp and the center is still a little chewy — about 2 minutes in a toaster on medium.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of cream cheese on each slice while the toast is warm, going all the way to the edges.
- Lay 3 oz of smoked salmon over the cream cheese in loose folds rather than flat sheets — folds look nicer and catch the lemon.
- Thinly slice 1/4 cucumber and arrange the slices over the salmon.
- Scatter 1 tablespoon of fresh dill over the top and squeeze the lemon wedge evenly across both slices.
- Finish with a crack of black pepper and serve immediately, before the toast softens.
