Copycat Glazed Donut (Dunkin’s style)
An American breakfast built around all-purpose flour and sugar — on the table in 40 minutes. Each serving lands at 150 calories with 5g of protein, so it eats like a much heavier meal. No specialty equipment and nothing hard to find at a regular grocery store.

Ingredients
- 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 Egg
- 3/4 cup Milk (1%)
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 cup Powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp Milk (1%)
Steps
- Whisk the dry ingredients with the nutmeg — that whisper of nutmeg is the flavor people can never quite name in a bakery donut.
- Whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla separately, then fold into the dry mix just until combined; overmixing is what turns baked donuts into muffins.
- Pipe or spoon the batter into a greased donut pan, filling each ring only two-thirds — they rise more than you think.
- Bake at 375°F for 12 minutes until springy to the touch; a toothpick should come out clean but the tops should not brown.
- Dunk each warm donut in the glaze twice, letting the first coat set 30 seconds — the double dip is what gives you that glassy Dunkin’ shine.
