Ingredients
- 12 Large shrimp
- 1/4 cup Cocktail sauce
- 1/2 Lemon
- 1 cup Shredded lettuce
Steps
- Bring a medium pot of well-salted water to a rolling boil. It should taste like the sea, this is the only seasoning the shrimp get.
- Add the shrimp and cook just 2 minutes, until pink and curled into a loose C shape. Beginner tip: a tight O shape means overcooked and rubbery.
- Dunk the shrimp immediately into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking, then drain well.
- Chill the shrimp in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. Cocktail shrimp must be served cold.
- Shred the lettuce and divide it among 4 small cups or ramekins.
- Spoon 1 tablespoon of cocktail sauce into each cup over the lettuce.
- Hang 3 chilled shrimp on the rim of each cup, tuck in a lemon wedge, and serve cold.
