Ingredients
- 8 Medjool dates
- 8 slices Bacon
- 8 Marcona almonds
- 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment or foil for easy cleanup.
- If the dates still have pits, slit each one lengthwise and remove the pit, keeping the date in one piece.
- Tuck one Marcona almond inside each date. It adds a buttery crunch against the soft, caramel-like date.
- Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise, then wrap one half-slice snugly around each stuffed date.
- Secure each with a toothpick and arrange seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Dust lightly with the smoked paprika.
- Bake 18 to 20 minutes, turning once halfway, until the bacon is crisp and browned on all sides. Beginner tip: let them cool 5 minutes before eating. The sugar in the dates is molten straight from the oven and will burn your mouth.
