Green Machine Smoothie
Banana does the heavy lifting here, with spinach rounding it out. A breakfast that takes 5 minutes, start to finish. Each serving lands at 350 calories with 12g of protein, so it eats like a much heavier meal. Simple enough for a Tuesday, good enough to serve to guests — that is the whole idea.

Ingredients
- 1 Banana
- 2 cups Spinach
- 2 tbsp Almond butter
- 1 cup Almond milk
- 1 tbsp Ground flax
Steps
- Add the liquid first: pour 1 cup of almond milk into the blender. Liquids on the bottom help the blades catch everything.
- Add 2 cups of spinach, 1 banana broken into 3 or 4 chunks, 2 tablespoons of almond butter, and 1 tablespoon of ground flax.
- Lock the lid on and blend on high for 60 seconds, until the mixture looks completely smooth with no green flecks.
- Stop and check: if you see unblended spinach on the sides, scrape it down with a spatula and blend 15 seconds more.
- Taste it. If the banana was not very ripe, add a drizzle of honey and pulse once more to mix.
- Pour over a glass of ice and drink right away — smoothies separate if they sit, so give it a stir if it waits more than a few minutes.
