Copycat Cane’s Sauce (Raising Cane’s style)

If you like nonfat greek yogurt, you’ll love this American snack — 10 minutes from craving to table. It is weeknight cooking that still hits your targets — 3 grams of protein per serving. It scales cleanly if you are cooking for more than one.

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Whisk the yogurt and mayo until completely smooth — the yogurt is the calorie cut, and nobody at the table will clock it once the spices land.
  2. Stir in the ketchup for the faint pink color and the Worcestershire for the savory backbone.
  3. Add the garlic powder, paprika, celery salt, and the black pepper last, tasting as you go; Cane’s sauce is pepper-forward above everything else.
  4. Rest it in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Fresh sauce tastes like seasoned mayo; rested sauce tastes like Cane’s, because the pepper blooms into the fat.
  5. Serve cold in a little ramekin with anything fried, or thin a spoonful with pickle brine for a drizzle over sandwiches. Keeps 5 days refrigerated.
