Copycat Chicken Sandwich (Chick-fil-A’s style)
American flavors, weeknight effort. Chicken breast meets dill pickle juice in a 35-minute dinner worth keeping in rotation. It is weeknight cooking that still hits your targets — 38 grams of protein per serving. Simple enough for a Tuesday, good enough to serve to guests — that is the whole idea.

Ingredients
- 10 oz Chicken breast
- 1/2 cup Dill pickle juice
- 1/2 cup Low-fat buttermilk
- 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 2 Brioche buns
- 1 tsp Butter
- 4 Dill pickle chips
- 1 tsp Powdered sugar
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Salt
Steps
- Brine the chicken in pickle juice 30 minutes — that salty tang running through the meat is the signature.
- Whisk the flour, cornstarch, powdered sugar, and spices; yes, a whisper of sugar is in the real breading.
- Dip the chicken in buttermilk, then dredge twice, pressing hard so the coating craggs and crunches.
- Rest the breaded chicken on a rack 10 minutes — this step alone keeps the crust from sliding off in the fryer.
- Air fry at 390°F for 12 minutes, flipping once, until deep golden and 165°F at the thickest point.
- Butter and toast the buns, lay two pickle chips on the bottom bun, and set the chicken on top with nothing else — the restraint is the recipe.
